Position Description: The role of the Technical Consultant is to be a leader in the therapeutic areas that are aligned to the Elanco species business strategy and to manage the successful implementation of support activities and initiatives in order to maximize current and future potential of Elanco products and services. This will involve: * Internal close liaison with sales and marketing to ensure activities are aligned with strategy. * Contact with international Elanco colleagues to maintain and develop technical strategy. * Externally to build a relationship with key customers, opinion leaders and influencers so that Elanco is perceived as a technical partner of choice. The Technical Consultant is seen as a key part of the species team and is expected to work with the species leadership team to determine the appropriate strategy for both current and future products. Functions, Duties, Tasks: * Provide technical & consultative skill training, coaching and support to the sales teams at meetings and through regular dual calling * Develop relationships with key customers and KOLs and work with them to develop mutually beneficial opportunities * Work with marketing to develop appropriate support materials and programmes (presentations, detail aids, technical information sheets, meeting roadshows etc) and to be part of the approval process * Provide technical support to customer inquiries and adverse event reports including providing the data for appropriate pharmacovigilance reporting, including out of hours, weekend and holiday cover * Support all efforts around the launch of our products Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications): * Veterinary qualification * At least 2 years of technical experience Additional Preferences: * Empathy and passion for the animal health business * Demonstrated business acumen and results driven * Demonstrated success in persuasion, influence and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to impart technical/scientific knowledge at appropriate levels * Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal * Organizational skills and time management skills * Strong sense of personal accountability * Ability to develop long-term business relationships * Flexible to learning new products and diseases over time * English—written and verbal Other Information: * Travel: Field based travel and some overnight stays * Location: Based in Affiliate home country Elanco is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status
