You will be required to deliver objectives in order to ensure first class value for the business whilst protecting from risk. About The RoleThe purpose of this position is to maintain an effective procurement interface for a specified category of technology goods and/or services and lead a category team in its implementation in order to deliver first class value for the business and protect it from risk. Youll account manage internal customers in the business areas serviced by the category : understanding their business drivers and needs in the context of the company strategy, agreeing how they can be most effectively met and advocating effective use of procurement resources. Youll lead the category team in the sourcing through to award of specified category of goods and services in order to meet internal customers' needs, deliver first class value for the business and protect it from risk. Youll ensure sourcing activity in the category is carried out in an efficient and timely way that is compliant with Royal Mail policy, process and guidelines. Youll be motivated to support and develop in the team, ensuring processes are adhered to and a culture of performance management and continuous improvement is prevalent : proactively collaborating in cross:procurement performance calibration where required. Youll challenge and guide to drive effective procurement strategies that maximise financial and non:financial value delivery. Youll work collaboratively with other Procurement Team members to make most effective use of the resources available across the procurement functions through a 'pooled resource' way of working. Youll ensure the maintenance of accurate and complete electronic records for all contracts and projects in the category and provide other category data and insights where required in order to drive value or mitigate business risk. Youll be able to provide expert negotiation guidance and support to maximise value delivery or mitigate risk across the categoryand be a commercial and contractual escalation point for business area customers and contract managers. About YouTo be successful in this position you shall have a track record in professional procurement and supply chain delivery. You will also be able to demonstrate the following experience/skillset: - Experience in Technology and IT procurement is essential- Experience of managing multiple projects/project strands at once and working at pace to challenging deadlines.- Skilled in program and change management and can demonstrate application with a technical background with procurement experience.- Proven ability professional expertise to develop and implement innovative procurement solutions.- Effective problem solver with demonstrable experience in formal and informal contractual and commercial issueresolution in areas of strategic or critical importance.- Is a proven negotiator and has been trained in negotiation principles and a track record of savings delivery.- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to lead in cross:functional teams and confidently operate at all levels with internal business and suppliers ExperienceTrack record of value delivery and the application ofstrategic sourcing methodology.
