A Principal Engineer is required in an established Structural Steel company based in Shropshire.Role Overview: The Principal Engineer will play a pivotal role in the technical aspects of bridge engineering projects and must have extensive expertise in structural analysis, design, and construction, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of bridge projects that meet all applicable standards and regulations.A Principal Engineer is required in an established Structural Steel company based in Shropshire.Role Overview: The Principal Engineer will play a pivotal role in the technical aspects of bridge engineering projects and must have extensive expertise in structural analysis, design, and construction, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of bridge projects that meet all applicable standards and regulations.The Principal Engineer will also mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical aspects of bridge engineering projects from concept to completionConduct comprehensive structural analysis and design for various bridge types, including concrete, steel, and composite bridgesPrepare and review technical documents, including plans, specifications, and estimatesProvide technical guidance and support to project managers and other team membersManage engineering deliverables for projects, ensuring these are completed on timeCoordinate and collaborate with clients, sub-consultants, and other stakeholdersWhere required provide oversight at construction phase, providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to design specificationsMentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance their skills and professional developmentConduct training sessions and workshops to promote technical competency within the teamIdentify and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiencyConduct thorough quality reviews of engineering calculations, designs, and documentsAdhere to BB-ENG-QC Quality Control procedure to ensure the accuracy and integrity of technical deliverablesAdhere to all applicable engineering standards, codes, and regulationsStay abreast of the latest advancements in bridge engineering technologies and methodologiesParticipate in professional development opportunities, such as conferences, workshops, and seminars Job Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldChartered Engineer with the ICE or IStructEMinimum of 7 years of experience in bridge engineering design and constructionExpertise in structural analysis and design software, such as AEC RSA, MIDAS, and IDEA StatiCaStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent leadership and mentoring abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamValid driver’s licenseAbility to travel and work on-site as requiredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software Package: 37.5 Hours of work per weekCompetitive salary based on experience25 days holiday + bank holidaysAdditional birthday holidayMedicash Health Cash BenefitCompany pensionParking Please apply with your most up to date CV and you will be contacted.
