Role Summary:Islam Channel is looking for a talented and experienced self-employed MSO to join the team on a rotating shift pattern. The ideal applicant will be hard-working, conscientious, and diligent with excellent communication skills and an ability to work efficiently making the best use of the resources available.Please note this is a temporary role for 5 weeksAbout the Company:Islam Channel has been broadcasting worldwide in English from London since 2004 and is undergoing a period of sustained and dynamic growth. If you would like to join us and have the opportunity to help shape our company, then we would love to hear from you.Role responsibilities:· Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast systems and technology· Setting up and operating a variety of cameras, from DSLRs to professional studio cameras· Knowledge of lighting techniques for both studio and location work, with the ability to set up necessary grip equipment and operate lighting controllers· Vision mixing live broadcasts, preferably with experience of using NewTek Tricasters or similar· Setting up audio equipment and mixing desk operation· Ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines· Flexibility to work unsociable hours· Risk assessment and awareness of health and safety issuesAbout you:· Minimum 3 years experience in a multi-skilled technical operations role, or significant experience in at least one field of technical operation· A degree, HND (higher national diploma) or vocational qualification in a subject such as sound technology, sound engineering, physics, electrical engineering or media production, will be particularly valuable· Good knowledge of tapeless production workflows, broadcast equipment and systems including, but not limited to, cameras, sound, vision, lighting, graphics, post-production, media management, MCR and Playout· Enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to prioritise a daily workload, and to meet deadlines both individually, and as part of a team· Able to react tactfully and sympathetically to requests from production staff and to refer upwards for guidance if needed· A good communicator who can remain calm under pressure and work well within a multifunctional teamJob Types: Temporary Next steps: This role is based in Ilford, only candidates that can commute to this location will be considered.To apply click the application button.
