The successful candidate will be responsible for attending bi-monthly board meetings and providing independent advice, support, and constructive challenges to NTIB partners and organisations. The Independent Chair will be innovative, confident, and consistent in their approach to ensure that transformational workstreams and associated governance groups get clear strategic leadership and guidance.Responsibilities Provide independent leadership and guidance to the Newham Transformation and Improvement BoardAttend bi-monthly board meetings and provide independent advice, support, and constructive challenges to NTIB partners and organisationsEnsure rigorous delivery of the councils improvement and transformation agendaMaintain productive and constructive relationships and cohere effort through all the parties in the BoardEnsure that effective cost controls are maintained throughout delivery Requirements Experience at CEO level of a Local Authority or equivalentExperience in leading improvement, transformation, and financial oversight of an organisationExtensive senior-level experience of working in and influencing the public sectorAbility to think laterally when evaluating options and impactsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsStrong track record of building credibility quickly with a wide range of stakeholders Qualifications A relevant degree or equivalent qualification SalaryThe Independent Chair of the Newham Transformation and Improvement Board will receive a day rate of £800 per day inside IR35 with a two days a month commitment.Application ProcessIf you are interested in this role, please send your CV via email to XXXX@servicecare.org.uk or call 01772 208 964 and ask to speak with Ashley.
