Fabrication / Welder Location: Birmingham Salary: Competitive Our client is a well:established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, they are now looking to recruit for the position of Fabrication / Welder. The successful applicant will be based at the production facility in Birmingham city centre. The Role Reporting to the Production Manager as part of the Fabrication / Welder team, your responsibilities will be preparation and welding of mild steel, Aluminium, Stainless steel, thicknesses of material will range from 1mm : 10mm. Your duties will include but not be limited to the following; * Fabrication of Mild steel, Stainless:steel and Aluminium components as required ensuring that the highest standards in finish and tolerances, in accordance with information supplied, are achieved using sound trade methods.* Must hold the following accreditations, BS EN ISO 15614 :1 and BS EN ISO 15614. : 2 and approved to weld Butt, Fillet and plug.* Weld components and framework using a TIG and MIG welding processes.* Position align and fit parts according to specifications.* Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard.* Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.* All Fabrications tasks are to be completed in the agreed (quoted) time frames or better.* Operation of manual machine tools, as part of the fabrication process when required.* Machines to be kept in a tidy and well:maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time.* Ensure that the supply of consumables, i.e. gas, welding wire etc. does not run which could affect the job.* Work with the Manager to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.* Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.* Display flexibility to work in other departments and overtime as necessary to assist the company in meeting production goals.* Liaise with design team and give input into new designs.* Complete administrative tasks as required.* Work from drawing without supervision.* Report drawing errors. Skills and Experience * Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication.* Significant Industry exposure.* BS EN ISO 15614 :1 and BS EN ISO 15614. : 2 accreditation (in date)* Knowledge of metal finishing techniques.* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld procedures and work instructions.* Ability to recognise welding symbols and specifications.* Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team:player.
