Due to continued growth and success, our Purchasing department are looking for a Buyer to join their busy team. This newly created role will suit someone with experience in purchasing and buying within an engineering and manufacturing environment and has excellent administration and organisational skills who is looking for their next challenge/new role in a fast moving and dynamic environment.The successful candidate will be a confident and driven individual who can prioritise their work to meet delivery of tasks and works well in a team. Detail and accuracy are key requirements in this role.This is an excellent opportunity to develop whilst working for a market leading international organisation. Working in the European procurement department, duties will include but not be limited to:• Purchase of materials in line with customer / Zeeco AML's according to fabrication drawings and associated bill of materials.• Creation of purchase orders in accordance with company procedures and in line with financial processes.• Liaising with supply chain and project managers on relevant projects to ensure understanding of requirements, delivery, budgets.• Identification of best value opportunities whilst keeping to required delivery.• Provide support for amendments and ongoing management of the approved vendor list.• Create works orders and identify when orders are required for stock items.• Run stock item reports, monitor shortages and re-order as per agreed requirements.• Own allocated projects for spare's jobs.• Contribute to the creation of team KPIs.• Occasional travel to supplier locations.The person:• 3-5 years' experience within a procurement role, purchasing for either a fabrication or an electrical components/instrumentation environment.• Ideally CIPS qualified or actively pursuing certification• Excellent sourcing & negotiating skills• Good communication skills, verbal and written• Good organisation and time management skills• IT literate (Microsoft Office), with strong Excel skills. Sage experience is desirable but training will be given• A strong team player, who is resourceful, well organised, highly dependable, efficient and detail orientated• Must live within 1 hour commute of the office (LE15 7QT), be able to drive and hold a full driving licence.Commodities used to build our equipment include, among others: Pipe/Fittings/Flanges, Structural Steel, Plate, Castings, Tubing, Pipe Fittings, Fasteners, Laser cut plate, Rollings, Machined components, Gaskets, Controls and Instrumentation, Enclosures, Electronics, Panels, Refractory, Paint, ACWL, Blowers, Dampers, Combustion Electronics, Cable.
