As a Junior Health & Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all employees. Your primary responsibility will be to assist our Health & Safety Officer in implementing and maintaining safety policies and procedures across our sites.. Responsibilities: Assist in conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulationsCollaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop and implement safety plans for each construction siteConduct safety training sessions for employees and provide guidance on proper safety protocols and proceduresInvestigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actionsMonitor and enforce compliance with company and industry-specific health and safety standardsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practicesAssist in conducting risk assessments and developing emergency response plans for various scenarios Requirements A degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related fieldPassion for promoting a safe working environment and ensuring the well-being of employeesStrong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations applicable to the construction industryExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsattention to detail and the ability to identify potential safety risksProven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in using computer applications and software related to health and safety documentation and reporting If the position above is of interest to you and you would like to know more, please call Sue on 059 915 XXXX in complete confidence.SOB
