This service provides accommodation and support to adults suffering from homelessness. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality support. THE ROLE As a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting residents and ensuring their safety and wellbeing overnight. Key responsibilities include: Working alongside the team to create a safe, welcoming environment for residentsBuilding supportive relationships with residentsProviding informal support, monitoring vulnerable residents' welfare, and reporting concernsResponding to emergencies and liaising with on-call managers and emergency services as neededEnsuring communal areas are safe, secure, and clean throughout the nightConducting routine patrols and health and safety checksManaging overnight referrals and maintaining accurate records of incidents THE CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with homeless individuals, they will possess: Experience responding calmly to challenging behaviourUnderstanding of adult safeguarding proceduresAbility to work within a team and independently, using initiativeBasic literacy and report-writing skillsUnderstanding of health and safety, particularly lone working procedures THE CONTRACT This is a 6-month temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent. Shifts are 5 days a week, alternating 1 week of early shifts and 1 week of late shifts. The pay range for the role is £15.70 to £16.97 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £13.38 to £14.47 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
