Job Summary and Purpose The Registered Manager RM is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the designatedOfsted-registered children’s home or homes, operating within an agreed annual budget. The RM hasfull responsibility for the day-to-day running and management of the home, supported by a staff team,ensuring the children’s welfare, safety and needs are at the centre of their care practices.Job Summary and Purpose The Registered Manager RM is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the designatedOfsted-registered children’s home or homes, operating within an agreed annual budget. The RM hasfull responsibility for the day-to-day running and management of the home, supported by a staff team,ensuring the children’s welfare, safety and needs are at the centre of their care practices. The children’shomes operate 24-hours each day, every day of the year, requiring round-the-clock staffing andmanagement. The RM is involved in staff recruitment and selection and is responsible for the effectivedeployment of staff. The RM must ensure the home complies with relevant regulatory and legalrequirements and standards and that it complies with Company Policies and Procedures. The RM mustmeet the relevant Ofsted fitness requirements to fulfil the role.Hours of Work It is an expectation that the RM will be flexible with working hours to accommodate staffing variations andthe needs of the home. The hours will normally be worked between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pmMonday to Friday inclusive. However, there will be circumstances dictated by the job where hours willvary within the week and include weekend and morning/evening management cover as required. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibility for the home The Registered Manager RM is responsible and accountable for his or her own professional actions; exercises discretion in determining how objectives agreed with the Line Manager are to be achieved;works autonomously within the overall framework of Company policies, procedures, and principles;adheres to professional codes of practice and terms and conditions of employment; and seeksadditional and appropriate supervision and guidance as necessary in order to fulfil the requirementsof the post. At all times the safety and welfare As a minimum, within the last 5 years at least 2years’ experience relevant to children’sresidential care.Worked for at least 2 years in a role requiringthe supervision and management of staffworking in a care role.A minimum of 1 year’s management experiencein a children’s home at Registered Manager orDeputy Manager level or an equivalent role.A good track record of budgetary and financialmanagement.
