About the Role: Our client is seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join their team in Middlesborough and surrounding areas. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals by promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility support. Implement and follow personalised care plans to meet the specific needs of each service user. Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events, encouraging engagement and social interaction. Monitor and report on the health and well-being of individuals, ensuring any changes are communicated promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any incidents or observations. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff. Uphold the dignity, privacy, and rights of all individuals, promoting a person-centred approach to care. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role, providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and those requiring spinal and bowel care. Experience and training in learning disability, autism, epilepsy, and spinal/bowel care are essential. A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
