Apprentice Electrician - Level 3 Based in Durham at regional offices, with set days out in the community and to attend college Full Time (37.5 hpw), fixed term 52 months (with progression into permanent opportunities available) Hourly Pay between £8.60 to £11.44 (dependant on age) with a range of benefits and an industry recognised qualification which we pay for! Then read on… We have the perfect job for you as one of our Apprentice Electricians, part of the maintenance Northeast team here at Home Group! Typical day as an Apprentice Electrician * You’ll help us deliver a fantastic maintenance service to customers, helping drive us forward as a respected and responsive social housing provider. * You’ll work alongside our fabulous maintenance team who are super passionate about delivering a customer focussed repairs and maintenance service; delivering on our Customer Promise to keep our customer’s homes in full working order. * Meeting with your team daily, on-line, and agreeing priorities, allocation of tasks and how you will support each other. * You will be paired up with a mentor who will help you build your skill set and help you learn new skills, not only electrical skills but customer service and organisational skills also. * You will take day release to attend college where you will complete your academic training with the support of an industry experienced tutor. * You will receive technical support and guidance from the other professionals in your team as well as peer support from other apprentices. About you * We need you to meet our entry requirements which is one GCSE grade 3 and one GCSE grade 4 (or above) in English, Math’s, and Science, and be committed to learning and career development. * You’re going to really impress us if have a passion for all things electrical, especially if you have a burning desire to build on existing skills * You will need to work hard to achieve your qualification, but we will make sure that we help you every step of the way. * Can work on your own initiative, ask questions and pro-actively learn your role * Be keen to learn how to prioritise workloads and thrive under pressure, taking ownership of your tasks * Understand the importance of excellent customer service, applying high standards of verbal and written communication skills with a desire to continually do the best for our customers. Our team Your manager will be the very ‘Charismatic and Fastidious’ Steven Vint who has more than 25 years’ experience and is passionate about all things electrical but has a real passion for the outdoors and cycling. The team is made up of 5 members who have over 80 years’ experience between them. Steve started his career with Sunderland Council as an apprentice (Winning Apprentice of the year twice) and has gone on to have a great career within the field including 12 years as a lecturer at Sunderland College. He and the rest of the team are super keen to help you learn new skills and gain the experience needed to have a successful career with Home Group. Although the job is a busy one, our sense of humour carries us through, and everyone here is ready and keen to help you settle in and become part of the team! Don’t be put off by the word apprentice as you can be any age to apply * Your wage will be higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage, so start planning what to spend that extra cash on! * You’ll be employed for a 52-month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career. * Many of our apprentices secure a permanent role with us so who knows where you’ll end up in the future! * This is a hybrid role so, although you will be out and about most of the time, working in our customers’ homes or preparing properties for rent, you will also spend some time in the office completing relevant paperwork, and at college where you will complete your studies.
