As the Head Porter you will be responsible for the porters and door people, supporting all aspects of Concierge functions whilst always keeping our brand values in mind. You will use intuitive service when responding to guest requests to create a truly unique and memorable stay, one that offers guests the best of London. You will have exceptional knowledge of the local area, and competitor hotels and what is going on within the city at any time ensuring you stay up to date with new restaurant and bar openings, exhibitions, and any pop-up activities in London. You will also need to have exceptional knowledge about the hotel product to comfortably talk about and sell hotel offerings including F&B outlets, corner shop, and meeting rooms. You will ensure luggage is handled according to standards, appropriately logged, and placed in rooms for arrivals, departures, and long-term storage and above all maintain a warm and friendly manner with each interaction, whilst ensuring efficiency during busy periods at the concierge desk. To be successful in this role you will * Ensure all departments are aware of all guests’ needs and requirements prior to arrival that will lead to a truly unique, memorable, and personal stay including VIP guests arriving, in-house, and departing including communication of any known movements to Guest Relations. * Action guest requests to the highest standards, always keeping the brand values in mind with each guest interaction. * Maintain a warm and friendly manner with each interaction, whilst ensuring efficiency during busy periods at the concierge desk * Arrange transportation for guests as requested, using recommended transportation companies that are in line with the Kimpton brand. * Maintain awareness of cultural differences needed to meet guest's specific needs and requirements. * Attend daily line up and update the team on what is going on in London, restaurant and theatre show recommendations etc. * Complete weekly spot checks of porters and doorperson team.
