Great news! We're hiring! Shift Supervisor The Role Reporting to the Shift Manager, in collaboration with the Team Leaders, you will manage the Fulfilment Centre Operatives. You will be responsible for executing tasks and managing day-to-day operations during your shift. You will maintain a safe working environment for all staff members by driving a clean as you go approach and driving the Health & Safety and security of the site. As a Shift Supervisor you will embody and convey BrandAlley’s core values and vision. You will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to within the warehouse. As a result of daily briefs and clear communication, your team will be fully engaged, understand their role and the impact they have on the company goals. You will act as the first point of contact for warehouse staff who need help in the workplace, whether for absence reporting, booking leave or advice and support. You will support team members and answer questions, resolving on-the-job conflicts and promote a positive work environment throughout the course of the shift. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement. Always strive to improve efficiencies and overall customer experiences. Additionally, you’ll coach Team Leaders, enhancing their abilities and preparing them for future management responsibilities. What will you be doing? Perform site open and closure duties, including security and machinery power up and shutdown. Create a safe working environment, ensure colleagues are supplied with sufficient PPE, that they are trained on the correct use of machinery and facilities and equipment, ensuring safety processes are adhered to and any defects or concerns are escalated. You will play a pivotal role in the onboarding and training process to ensure the shift is equipped with the right skill sets to achieve the daily objectives. You will create an agile workforce by providing the right resources to perform at their best. This includes identifying skill gaps and implementing robust training plans. Oversee warehouse operational departments, ensuring efficient flow of products and materials through a warehouse environment. It will be your responsibility to assign tasks to team members and coordinate order fulfilment Ensuring all areas of the daily operational teams are adequately resourced to achieve the day’s volumes whilst achieving KPI. Provide clear instruction to optimise team strengths. Be able to react to change by making decisions and flexing the operational team in line with requirement. Ensure specialist roles are in place, for example in the instance of CVP or MOD issues ensuring maintenance investigation escalation processes are followed. Lead and supervise employees, monitor and manage their performance, downtime and behaviours through regular reviews. Promote a right first-time attitude and process adherence with effective error management. Ensure accurate timesheet reporting, managing leave in line with operational needs. Create warehouse metrics reports as needed. Escalate through the right channels any issues that arise on shift regarding people, couriers, machinery, safety concerns, anything that may compromise stock integrity or impact business or customer service. Through effective cross functional and shift communication, provide a one team approach when working toward the company and site goals. Empower staff to be able to identify areas for improvement throughout the warehouse operational processes. Maintain a clean as you go environment on site, including the warehouse, yard and breakout areas. Drive sustainability, ensuring warehouse waste is segregated and disposed of correctly. Ensure that the yard is maintained, waste is loaded and collected in accordance with process to ensure recycling rates are high as possible. What you’ll bring… Leadership Skills: The ability to lead by example, motivate the team, and ensure smooth operations. You will be able to delegate tasks effectively and provide clear instructions to warehouse staff. Organizational Skills: You must be able to oversee order fulfillment. Strong organizational skills are essential to keep everything running efficiently. Communication Skills: Proven ability to be able to communicate clearly both written and verbally with team members, and others in supervisory roles through briefs, 1-2-1s and reporting. As well as being able to share good news & positive feedback you will have the confidence and proven skills to have difficult conversations. Problem-Solving Abilities: You will encounter various challenges, such as stock discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or staffing issues. You must be able to prove you can think on your feet and find solutions. Knowledge of Warehouse Operations: You will understand Fulfilment Centre processes, safety protocols, and equipment usage. They should be familiar with management systems and software. Attention to Detail: Accuracy is key during inbound processes through to order picking, packing, and shipping. Safety Awareness: You will demonstrate a good level of Health and Safety regulation knowledge. You will be expected to uphold safety rules and address any safety concerns promptly. Adaptability: You will show that you can readily adjust to changing priorities, handle unexpected challenges, and manage varying workloads. Proactive Development: You will demonstrate the drive to pursue development, enhance your skills and gain experience and strive for step up opportunities. Conflict Resolution Skills: A supervisor should handle disputes professionally, mediate conflicts, and maintain a positive work atmosphere. Who are we?
