We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and nurturing nursery school in Putney. This part:time position involves providing targeted support for children with special needs, helping them thrive in a safe and stimulating environment. Opportunities are available for an immediate start as well as for the new academic year in September. Key Responsibilities: * Provide tailored support to young children with special educational needs in a nursery setting. * Work closely with the nursery team to create an inclusive environment where each child can flourish. * Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each childs specific needs. * Support the children in daily activities, encouraging social interaction and engagement. * Use a variety of strategies and resources to support childrens learning and development. * Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to the nursery team and parents. * Promote positive behaviour and emotional well:being. * Assist with personal care needs as required. * Participate in training and development to enhance your skills in supporting children with SEN. Qualifications and Experience: * Essential: * Previous experience working with young children, particularly those with special educational needs. * Understanding of child development and the ability to implement age:appropriate activities. * Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children. * Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues. * Flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting childrens individual needs. * Desirable: * Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Early Years Practitioner or Teaching Assistant qualification. * Experience working with specific needs such as speech and language delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or developmental delays. * Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its application in a nursery setting.
