The Super Hubs are pivotal to our transformation journey; providing state:of:the:art automation sortation solutions helping us to ensure we continue to excel at providing a great service to all our customers and the communities we deliver to. The Midlands Super Hub is Royal Mail's largest site processing over 1 million parcels daily and moving 50 of the nations mail through our network of Mail Centre's and Parcel Hubs for delivery both via road and rail through our onsite Rail Platform We are looking for passionate, motivated and experienced Flow Systems Managers to join the Super Hub leadership team and be part of our future. You will play an instrumental part in the fast paced environment of the new Hub, managing and leading our Hub teams to build trusted relationships and delivering a world class automated operation with the capability to process 60,000 parcels an hour. The Flow Room is critical, it's the beating heart of our automated operation. It controls everything that happens in the Super Hub from an operational perspective. It makes timely business critical decisions, providing updates on how the operation is performing and managing the peaks and troughs in demand to ensure efficient flow through the hub and by extension to the rest of the UK. About the role You will be part of the flow room systems team on shift who are data driven decision makers that work under pressure and influence senior stakeholders. They work in an environment of trust, feedback and openness, with an aim to continuously improve. You will: - Manage the APSS performance via SCADA, CCTV and WMS ensuring maximum utilisation and availability of the machine- Be expected to make timely business critical decisions based upon the data feeding into the flow room, ensuring bottlenecks and single points of failure are adequately managed- Ensure all mail types are processed on time. Instruct and influence managers within the operation with their holistic view of the site- Be the1st line support for mechanical and system issues raised by the operational teams- Prioritise faults and incidents occurring simultaneously in the operation. Rectifying the assets with the largest impact first- Managing Vehicle flow through the yard management system (YMS) to ensure that vehicle movements to dock are managed to maximise efficiency of internal flow, yard utilisation and trailer utilisation- Review SCADA data to identify reoccurring faults across a time period and requesting preventative maintenance and repairs in conjunction with the Engineering team About you You should already have experience in working in an automated warehouse facility, have strong analytic and problem:solving skills and can quickly learn complex warehouse management systems. You also have: - Experience of designing and maintaining system and flow/control room processes- Experience working with SCADA and WMS - The ability to translate technical information to a non technical audience- Good understanding of Continuous Improvement principles- Skilled and intuitive in identifying solutions to problems. Uses the expertise, skills and experience of others as appropriate- Independent, self:reliant, enthusiastic, and determined. You will need to demonstrate tenacity and the capacity for sustained effort and hard work over extended periods Shift patterns: The role will work to a set shift pattern of Tuesday , Wednesday to Saturday 1100:1
