SEN Teacher Location: Cranleigh, Surrey Salary: A GBP 29,350:A GBP 42,688 per annum (Qualified) + St Josephs allowance of A GBP 2,270 with an additional A GBP 1,000 Retention Bonus** St Josephs is a registered charitable trust comprising specialist school, college and registered childrens home working with vulnerable children and young people with complex needs and two supported living houses for young adults. Their 70+ students are aged 5 to 19 years old with complex learning disabilities and severe social communication and behavioural issues, many with autism. All of their staff need compassion and empathy and the drive to make a real difference to the lives of the young people. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training as part of your induction before employment. Physical and mental resilience are essential qualities in all employees. The Role The school are looking for a dynamic class teacher to join their team. Having been reviewed by Ofsted Education in February 2023 they are currently rated Outstanding; they are also accredited by the National Autistic Society and hold the Autism Education Trust Schools Licence for Surrey. The school is pleased and proud to provide opportunities for teachers to develop and build their expertise in the field of SEND. Skills and Qualifications Applicants should be qualified teachers, ideally with experience in a SEN setting. They will accept applications for NQTs and ECTs. You will lead a class alongside Therapists, of up to 14 students supported by a dedicated team including Higher Level Teaching Assistants and TAs. This is an excellent opportunity if you are approachable and professional with empathy and understanding for the needs of the students. You will be encouraged and supported to further develop your skills and knowledge by undertaking regular CPD opportunities. All Teachers with QTS may be asked to take on leadership of a subject and this will be discussed on an individual basis at interview. Your own transport is desirable due to the rural location of the Trust however, they are very close to the village centre and a 20:minute walk from bus stops providing buses from Horsham, Godalming and Guildford.
