We're looking for global experts eager to join us in this endeavour, contributing to a future where access to life-saving vaccines is a reality for all.We are seeking a talented, experienced, and motivated Scientist to join the Immuno-Assays group. This role will serve as a scientific point of contact for the running of cell-based Immuno-Assay development, qualification/validation to support programs across multiple therapeutic areas. The Scientist will design and execute cell-based assay development, qualification or validation, and the running of clinical samples to return high-quality data for clinical trials conducted by Moderna. The candidate will have broad knowledge of best practices in cell culture and immunoassays, and prior experience in running assay validation and conducting data acquisition on clinical specimens. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for training junior team members when and where needed to perform analytical work and maintain clinical testing continuity. The ability to effectively communicate across multi-disciplinary teams and external partners is required. The candidate will be aware of the newest technology and critical reagents in his field of expertise. The candidate should be an outstanding scientist, collaborative team member, and excellent communicator to support Moderna's portfolio needs. Here's What You'll Do: Your key responsibilities will be: Be responsible for the quality and integrity of assigned bioanalytical projects in support of clinical trials at Moderna. Serve as a key analyst, perform assay development, qualification/validation, and sample analysis. Deliver high-quality data within defined timelines and aligned to current industry expectations. Author bioanalytical reports. Identify and resolve quality issues and report issues to upper management. Occasionally the job may require overtime work or weekend shifts as needed. Coach and train junior staff within the lab. Provide key inputs on assigned junior members' strengths and development needs. Contribute to periodic performance reviews of assigned junior associates. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines and maintain training records. Travel for attending training, technical conferences, and exhibits as required. Your responsibilities will also include: Represent the bioanalytical function on project teams and present results, data interpretation, timelines, etc., at project meetings. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate new bioanalytical technologies and solutions to support challenging project requests. Obsess over learning: Continuously seek new knowledge and advancements in cell-based and bio-analytical test methods to maintain cutting-edge expertise and support clinical phase studies. Here's What You'll Bring to the Table: Ph.D. > 2 yrs or BSC/MSc with >6 years' experience in immunology, or related field conducting assay validation in clinical Immunology under GLP/GCLP environment. A background in infectious diseases, virology, bacteriology or oncology and experience with handling laboratory pathogens as containment level 3 is an advantage. Experience and deep understanding of cell culture and cell-based assays, particularly viral neutralization assays or bacteriology assays. Strong level of understanding and expertise in design and executing immune-related studies and assays The ability to work in a cross-functional work environment is critical; strong leadership skills and independence skills are expected. Excellent written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate in a team environment and with external stakeholders. Candidate will be curious in exploring new technology, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. Will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes Possess strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism Knowledge of system software for data analysis and statistical analysis. Experience of working in a regulated environment GLP, GCP, ISO standards is preferred. This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna's site full-time.
