Our client is a leading construction company with a solid reputation for delivering high:quality commercial projects across the North West. With an exciting pipeline that includes significant schemes such as high:rise PRS (Private Rented Sector) buildings, they are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. Role Overview: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in supporting commercial projects from inception to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual looking to grow their career in a supportive and fast:paced environment. Key Responsibilities: * Cost Management: Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and control of project budgets. Provide detailed cost analysis and forecasts. * Measurement and Valuation: Conduct accurate measurements and valuations of works completed, ensuring compliance with contract terms. * Procurement: Support the procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating subcontractor bids, and negotiating terms. * Contract Administration: Assist in the administration of contracts, including preparing and issuing notices, certificates, and instructions as required. * Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to project cost and delivery. Assist in developing strategies to mitigate these risks. * Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project financial status, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis. * Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any queries or concerns. * Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained and updated in accordance with company policies and procedures. Qualifications and Skills: * Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. * Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred. * Strong analytical and numerical skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry:specific software. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. * Keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
