Our main aim is to enable customers to maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes. As a First City Healthcare Assistant Apprentice you will play a key role in enabling care and support to all customers, both individuals and families assessed as being in need of assistance.Key responsibilities: You will support people with their mobility, domestic duties, shopping calls and social support in the communityHelping people to manage nutrition and hydration needs, take medication and other key aspects of daily livingProviding personal care at varying levels, this can range from offering encouragement and support, to enabling people to do it themselves, to physically supporting them directly.Getting involved in a range of duties and activities, while prioritising the health, wellbeing and safety of those we supportUphold the Organisations values and demonstrate commitment to the highest quality standards through all practiseMaintain integrity when dealing with confidential mattersComplete course work on time and to a high standardProduce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of assessments completed It’s true that no two days are ever the same. As a team we offer 24/7 support to both our staff and customers to ensure the highest quality care and support is delivered.Essential: Be 17 years of age or olderMust have at least a grade C or 4 GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English or willing to undertake Functional Skills as part of the courseWork a minimum of 30 hours per week Inclusive of Morning/Evening and Weekend commitment Desirable: Health and social care qualification GCSE or equivalentHave an understanding and interest of the health and social care sectorDriving license and access to your own vehicle Duration: The Apprenticeship will take between 12 - 18 months to completeCourses available Adult Social care Level 2 and 3 depending previous qualificationsRate of pay: £9.44 per hour for the 1st year – Rate will be assessed after a year.This position may be closed sooner if a suitable candidate is appointedALL EMPLOYMENT WITH FIRST CITY NURSING AND CARE IS SUBJECT TO SATISFACTORY REFERENCES, ENHANCED DBS CHECK AND FULL COMPLETION OF MANDATORY TRAINING
