Their team in Southampton is expanding, and they are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Town Planner to join them. The Role As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing a diverse portfolio of planning projects. You will work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to deliver high:quality planning solutions that align with a commitment to sustainability and excellence. Key Responsibilities * Project Management: Lead and manage planning applications and appeals, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. * Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering expert advice and support throughout the planning process. * Research and Analysis: Conduct site appraisals, planning history research, and policy analysis to inform strategic planning decisions. * Report Writing: Prepare comprehensive planning reports, statements, and supporting documents. * Team Leadership: Mentor junior planners and contribute to their professional development. * Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate consultations with local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience * Education: Degree in Town Planning or a related field. * Professional Membership: Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or working towards it. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in town planning, preferably within a consultancy environment. * Skills: Strong understanding of the UK planning system, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in planning software and tools.
