What you will do As a Senior Project Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting all capital expenditure process enhancements and plant improvement schemes at our Colors Shotton site. Reporting to the Manager of Shotton Projects, you will manage the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team. Your responsibilities will span from initial project concept to final implementation and operation, ensuring adherence to Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice. When required, you will also deputise for the Projects Manager. The Senior Project Mechanical Engineer will lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors, focusing on safe working practices while providing engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams. Additionally, you will maintain up:to:date knowledge of engineering equipment developments and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects. What you will need To succeed in this role, the Senior Project Mechanical Engineer should have a degree in an appropriate discipline and relevant plant experience in the steel or construction industry. Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects and the management of external contractors is desirable. You should have excellent budget management skills, comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent problem:solving abilities, are essential. You should be capable of working effectively at all levels within the organization and have a strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations.
