The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) works to develop and deploy advanced technology in pursuit of solving some of humanity’s most challenging and enduring problems. Guided by world-leading scientists and entrepreneurs, EIT seeks to accelerate innovation by driving scientific and technological advancements across four humane endeavours: health and medical science, food security and sustainable agriculture, climate change and clean energy, and government innovation and the era of artificial intelligence. EIT Oxford is a new interdisciplinary research and development facility that bridges The Oxford Science Park and Littlemore. Set for completion in 2026, the state-of-the-art facility will have 30,000m² of research laboratories, an oncology and preventative care clinic, plus educational and meeting spaces. The new facility will further EIT’s current partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars. Ellison Institute Oxford is launching a series of new projects (“Missions”) to respond to the biggest challenges in health and medical science, food security and sustainable agriculture, climate change and clean energy, and government innovation and era of artificial intelligence (EIT Humane Endeavors). These Missions will be multi-year, multi-dimensional and bold efforts to research and develop novel technologies and manage the whole system change required to successfully resolve some of the hardest societal challenges that we face. Each mission will align with at least one of EIT’s four Humane Endeavors. Please visit eit.org for more details. Duties/Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following: Project Identification and Scoping: Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables. Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information and insights for effective project scoping. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership and department representatives to ensure alignment of project goals with overall business objectives. Facilitate communication and collaboration across various teams to ensure seamless project execution. Network and collaborate with existing teams within EIT across Oxford and, where required or beneficial, Los Angeles to ensure opportunity for awareness, support and access to existing resources. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project and develop mitigation strategies. Implement risk monitoring mechanisms and provide timely updates to stakeholders. Resource Allocation: Collaborate with functional leads to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal project performance. Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient use of resources. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and post-project evaluations. Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, milestones achieved, and any challenges encountered. Design, create and own a range of reports and process mapping documents and tools, working with others, where require, to implement and update regularly. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Project Management Expertise: In-depth understanding of project management methodologies and best practices. Proven experience in successfully managing projects, demonstrating effective planning and execution skills. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with life sciences, medical research, or technological environments. Adept at translating industry-specific requirements into actionable project plans. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders. Leadership Skills: Exhibits leadership qualities, even in a sole contributor role, to influence and guide project teams. Inspires confidence and motivates team members towards project goals. Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Life Sciences, Technology, Business Administration). PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable. Experience: Likely to have a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in start-up environments. Proven track record of managing projects in a sole contributor capacity. Management of elements related to mergers & acquisitions Industry-Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience in projects related to life sciences, medical research, or technology sectors.
