Geotechnical Engineer

Description:
Im currently recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to work on Hinkley Point C. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations, analysis, and reporting for the Hinkley Point C project. * Design and oversee geotechnical projects, including foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the integration of geotechnical solutions with overall project design and construction. * Perform site inspections and supervise field activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. * Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications. * Provide expert advice on geotechnical matters to project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders. * Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations. Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. * Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership is highly desirable. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong background in large:scale infrastructure projects. * Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar tools. * Comprehensive understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geotechnical design principles. * Excellent problem:solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
