We are on the hunt for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong construction background to join one of our clients leading the charge in the development of sustainable low-carbon design for projects across the private and public sector.Senior Mechanical Engineer – Birmingham Hybrid - £55,000 to £65,000 We are on the hunt for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong construction background to join one of our clients leading the charge in the development of sustainable low-carbon design for projects across the private and public sector. An ideal candidate for this role would have a background in healthcare, housing, or education related projects in both the private and public sectors. Key Responsibilities: Interpret client requirements and statutory obligations to design comprehensive building servicesMaintain detailed project documentation, including calculation files and correspondenceEnsure designs comply with relevant regulations, company procedures, and standardsCollaborate with internal and external design team members as part of a multidisciplinary teamPrepare detailed specifications, drawings, and schedules for all electrical services to convey design requirements clearlyReview and verify design work, including that completed by Engineers and Assistant EngineersConduct site surveys, commissioning, and testing as requiredPrepare budget estimates, cost plans, tender documents, and contract arrangementsAttend project and technical meetings Essential Skills and Experience: Significant experience within building servicesMembership of the CIBSE Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, or equivalent knowledge and competenceProficiency with software such as Hevacomp, MEPworx or IES Desirable Skills and Experience: Degree/Chartership CEng or equivalentExperience within public sector projectsAbility to conduct condition surveys and write reports What We Offer: Scottish Windows pension and salary sacrifice 4.5 contribution matchedHealthcare Cash Plan and a generous Life Assurance scheme for all colleaguesHybrid Working Arrangements and Flexible Working HoursBirthday and Long Service leave
