Join our highly successful team of underwriters in Leeds, specialising in high net-worth property insurance.As a Junior Underwriter, you will support the daily underwriting and processing of both commercial and residential risks, ensuring the acquisition of new business while gaining comprehensive knowledge of various risks to underwrite effectively.You will cultivate and sustain excellent relationships with key clients and brokers throughout the UK, delivering a consistently high level of service.This is an outstanding opportunity to launch your career in underwriting, with extensive support, training, and encouragement from a dedicated team.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Underwriter in Leeds, your responsibilities will include:Assisting with the daily underwriting and processing of commercial and residential risksReviewing and summarising files to gather pertinent case informationConducting legal research and handling special projectsProactively developing industry knowledge and staying informed on market trendsEnsuring high accuracy in policy wording and documentationDeveloping and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients, confidently discussing policies with them.Adhering to company values, integrity, and regulatory standardsTravelling to other company sites as requiredJob Requirements A 2:1 university degree, preferably in STEM, Law, Economics, Geography, or a related fieldIdeally, some work experience or internship in a commercial environment.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and technical abilitiesConfidence in building client relationships and communicating with executivesHighly organised with meticulous attention to detailDemonstrates a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and growThis role offers a fantastic opportunity to begin your underwriting career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
