Fforest Fawr Geopark Climate Project Manager Location: Brecon Salary: Grade 9 A GBP 36,348 : A GBP 39,186 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Closing Date: 10 th July 2024 Interviews: 17 th July 2024 National Parks were designated in order to protect beautiful areas for the benefit of the nation. They came about as a result of the 1949 National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, which put a legislative framework in place for the establishment of National Parks in England and Wales. The Role To play a leading role in the development and delivery of a project to better understand the risks that climate change pose to the Fforest Fawr Geoparks cultural and natural heritage and to develop a strategic plan to improve resilience for this and future generations. Key Responsibilities * To manage the development and delivery of projects and programmes through initiation, implementation, monitoring and review, including managing associated risks and issues and comprehensive reporting and dissemination.* To provide expertise in programme and project management ensuring projects and programmes are designed and delivered on time, within budget and to agreed outcomes.* To work collaboratively across the organisation and with relevant stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective management and delivery of high:quality projects.* To work with and support the UKNC project team and project consultants to coordinate and deliver project activities at pilot:site level, and to contribute to pan:project activities and knowledge sharing as appropriate. Skills and Qualifications Essential Criteria * Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a relevant discipline* Recognised project management qualification Knowledge/Experience * Significant demonstrable experience and track record of managing the delivery of high(1)quality projects / programmes* Knowledge and understanding of project management practices, systems, processes and procedures* Experience of working with and involving others in the development and implementation of projects* Proven work record of consistently achieving high standards and delivering objectives and priorities* Proven experience of managing budgets and contracts Skills/Abilities * Ability to manage complex work areas / projects in parallel and simultaneously* Good relationship management and the ability to foster joint working across team boundaries and with stakeholders* Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision* Good analytical and problem:solving skills with ability to analyse, interpret and resolve issues* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office software* Full driving licence* Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for this reputable company, please proceed through the following link to be redirected to their website to complete your application. beacons:npa.gov.uk/the:authority/job:vacancies/ The National Park Authority is an equal opportunities employer, values diversity and is strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
