Senior Mechanical Engineer : Birmingham (Hybrid) : GBP55,000 to GBP65,000 We are on the hunt for a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong construction background to join one of our clients leading the charge in the development of sustainable low:carbon design for projects across the private and public sector. An ideal candidate for this role would have a background in healthcare, housing, or education related projects in both the private and public sectors. Key Responsibilities: * Interpret client requirements and statutory obligations to design comprehensive building services * Maintain detailed project documentation, including calculation files and correspondence * Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, company procedures, and standards * Collaborate with internal and external design team members as part of a multidisciplinary team * Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and schedules for all electrical services to convey design requirements clearly * Review and verify design work, including that completed by Engineers and Assistant Engineers * Conduct site surveys, commissioning, and testing as required * Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, tender documents, and contract arrangements * Attend project and technical meetings Essential Skills and Experience: * Significant experience within building services * Membership of the CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers), or equivalent knowledge and competence * Proficiency with software such as Hevacomp, MEPworx or IES Desirable Skills and Experience: * Degree/Chartership (CEng) or equivalent * Experience within public sector projects * Ability to conduct condition surveys and write reports What We Offer: * Scottish Windows pension and salary sacrifice (4.5 contribution matched) * Healthcare Cash Plan and a generous Life Assurance scheme for all colleagues * Hybrid Working Arrangements and Flexible Working Hours * Birthday and Long Service leave
