We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly team in Balham. This full:time position is an excellent opportunity to work closely with Year 1 students, helping them thrive academically and socially. Key Responsibilities: * Individual and Group Support: Provide targeted assistance to students, both one:on:one and in small groups, ensuring they meet their learning goals. * Curriculum Assistance: Support the classroom teacher with delivering engaging lessons, preparing learning materials, and creating an inclusive learning environment. * Behaviour Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive, respectful atmosphere conducive to learning. * Progress Monitoring: Assist in assessing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents. * Special Educational Needs (SEN): Work with children with diverse needs, implementing personalised strategies to aid their development. * General Classroom Duties: Assist with daily routines, classroom organisation, and ensuring the safety and well:being of all students. What We Are Looking For: * Experience: Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential. Familiarity with the Key Stage 1 curriculum and supporting children with special needs is a plus. * Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child care are highly desirable. * Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with young children. Proficiency in managing classroom dynamics and supporting differentiated learning. * Commitment: A proactive and flexible attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting childrens learning and development.
