DHL Aviation are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Technician Apprentice, to join our Health & Safety department at our site at London Heathrow Airport, on a fixed term contract for the duration of the Apprenticeship. These include: * Competitive salary, including unsociable hours shift allowance * Annual bonus up to 5% (depending on company performance) * Free onsite parking * My DHL Rewards (discount, saving, cash back at over 3000 retailers) * Pension Scheme with up to 6% company contribution * DHL Share Purchase Plan (after 3 months) * Private Medical Scheme (after 12 months) * Access to Occupational Health * Enhanced Maternity pay (after 12 months) * Cycle to Work scheme * CIS Induction – a week’s all expenses paid induction to our Company Values! * HealthyMinds – Employee Assistance Programme Key responsibilities: * Assist in the development, management, implementation and monitoring of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System. * Learn to identify hazards and evaluate risk. * Support and assist in the implementation of SHE inspections, and closing out of issues identified. * Assist with the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed * Undertake monitoring, analysis of and reporting of SHE KPI’s * Prepare and maintain records relating to safety, health and environmental matters that comply with legal and workplace requirements and are accessible to those who are authorised to use them. * Assist with managing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as local authorities. * Research SHE issues and best practices. * Review updates of health and safety regulations. * Recognise where decisions have a financial cost and assisting to develop a budget. * Recognise situations where the activity will benefit from contributions and expertise of other internal departments such as HR, Finance, IT or Occupational Health. * All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities. Training you will undertake includes: * End-Point Assessment (EPA): Knowledge test, Project Report and Presentation, Professional Discussion * Delivery Method: Online portfolio to update with learning and development, diarised virtual appointments with a dedicated Learning Coach, attendance to training sessions, workshops, masterclasses (online) * Additional training to take place to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours in accordance with this Apprenticeship standard Qualifications that you'll gain: * Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician apprenticeship standard Additional information: * Flexibility with working hours may be required.
