Financial Controller York, North Yorkshire A GBP 70,000 : A GBP 75,000 per annum Permanent full:time role Hybrid working option available Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Qualified Accountant or Financial Controller to join a successful commercial company based in York, North Yorkshire The Role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller you will be in key role in the Finance Department, responsible for managing the finance team. You will have 3 direct reports with a bigger team of 20 people. Duties * Ensuring responsibility is allocated for all finance tasks with clear deadlines and KPIs (and that these deadlines and KPIs are reliably achieved), and managing the performance of team members.* Manage and maintain strong controls around revenue and cost of sale recognition. Improving controls where practical leveraging data capability.* Monitor and manage cash flows and prepare, maintain and monitor the rolling cash flow forecast. Including Board reporting of the companys cash position and forecast.* Work with the Accounts Receivable Team to manage the aged debtor report, cash collection and credit control and ensure the prompt, accurate and complete collection of cash in line with credit terms.* Work with the Accounts Payable team to manage the purchase ledger function ensuring timely, accurate and complete processing of supplier invoices and ensure that supplier payments are made weekly in line with credit terms.* Review and authorise the monthly payroll and ensure that all related payments (PAYE/NI/pension/AOE) are made by the relevant deadline.* Support and input to budgeting and forecasting cycle for Working capital, cash and balance sheet in line with the timetable agreed with the Group Head of FP and A* Prepare the year:end audit file and supporting tax pack information with the timetable agreed with the Auditors, Tax Advisers and Group Financial Accountant. Ensure the audit and draft statutory financial statements and tax return are completed in line with the agreed timetable for the companys legal entities.* Work to continue to develop monthly reporting suite provided to the Board including insightful commentary on the performance of the business.* Provide additional financial information to the business as needed and complete ad:hoc financial and business projects as agreed with the Group CFO and Group FC. Skills/Knowledge/Experience * Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)* Strong people management experience including coaching, development and performance management.* Technically confident accountant, able to work on own initiative for complex transactions.* Experienced at dealing with auditors, advisors, and other external parties.* Intermediate level Excel experience essential (e.g. SUMIF, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, SUBTOTAL, Pivot tables)* VAT experience desirable* Experience of Sage Intacct desirable Benefits * 26 days annual leave plus Bank holidays* Additional holiday for each year after 2years service* Employee Assistance Program* Private Company Pension* Discounted services and offers* Technology package to support you at home* Holiday purchase option If you would like for the role of Financial Controller then please to or call Deb on Closing date is 24.7.2024 Please note this could change subject to suitable applications.
