Description:
We are currently seeking a Heat Tracing System Designer to join our team. In this role, you will design heat tracing systems per customer specifications, ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability. You will use Thermon's design software and follow established guidelines to create detailed heat tracing designs. Overview: Under supervision, you will design heat tracing systems based on customer specifications, ensuring successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will identify heat tracing requirements from customers' drawings, specifications, instructions, and Thermon quotations, and prepare necessary technical documents and drawings. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Design small to medium projects or multiple small projects simultaneously. Collaborate with other designers, Project Managers, and the CAD group to generate isometric drawings. Interact with customer representatives on technical issues. Create and review drawings using VisiTrace. Utilize intermediate MS Office skills. Demonstrate technical knowledge of electricity (Ohm's Law, voltage, amperage, circuits) and piping and insulation systems. Prepare and review drawings for accuracy, and check and approve drawings prepared by other designers. Apply knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards (IEEE 515, NEC, IEC, etc.) to designs. Conduct site surveys to gather necessary information for heat tracing design. Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred. Minimum of 3 years of heat tracing design experience required. Experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven work environment is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and design software (CompuTrace, VisiTrace, TSDS) is required. Experience in a high-performing engineering organization, providing insight, feedback, and commitment. Decisive, thorough, and timely in drawing conclusions and managing expectations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
