As a Sous Chef, you are accountable for kitchen operation including production, cleanliness and safe systems of work in the kitchen, and to deputise in the absence of the Head Chef. You will work alongside the team and ensure the food is received by the guest in a timely manner to the quality expected. To succeed as a Sous Chef, you will need: * To have been a Sous chef for 1-2 years within a global hotel brand or restaurant of the same classification / cuisine (as minimum) with comparable size and complexity. * To be experienced in local cuisine, with practical experience of at least one other cuisine and experience catering meetings, social events and restaurants * As a minimum, must have completed level 3 Food Safety certification and have knowledge in HACCP * To have knowledge of appropriate working to brand standards relating to food and the ability to create and deliver appropriate menus, using appropriate suppliers and product * To be up to date with critical issues and trends in food * To have the technical skills to work on every section for every service period in the kitchen Our Sous Chef enjoys a range of benefits including: * Becoming part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts family, one of the world’s leading hotel companies - which means global opportunities. * Taxi subsidy for shifts starting/ending between 23:00-06:00. * Subsidised childcare support * Meals whilst on duty * We are open 7 days a week 365 days a year and need people to work a range of shifts and days - this means we can offer great flexibility if required * 31 days holiday each year, including bank holidays, this increases up to a maximum of 33 days (Pro Rated) * We provide every employee company sick pay and life insurance * Amazing discounts for our hotels and restaurants around the world * Discounts from over 15,000 stores – all the way from retail to cinema * Meals whilst on duty * Don’t forget, bring your friends and take part in our generous ‘Refer a Friend’ programme!
