Job Summary We are seeking a Fetal Technician, within our Pathology Laboratory based environment for our Safety Assessment site located at Tranent, East Lothian. About the LaboratoryDue to our continued growth and success, we can offer rewarding opportunities in a research environment. Working as a Fetal Technician I, you'll join a team which is predominantly involved in processing samples coming from animal necropsies working within a niche part of the drug safety testing business. Such a technician may also receive cross training within certain aspects of dosing and animal care procedures. Tissue production and other routine laboratory methods also become a factor within this post. The post requires no previous experience as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. The following are responsibilities related to the Fetal Technician:- Carrying out laboratory procedures predominantly within Fetal Pathology with some specialised niche procedures therein.- Procedures on all routine laboratory animal species- Sampling, the treatment of samples and sample preparation prior to and post fixation of samples The following are minimum qualifications related to the Fetal Technician position:- A minimum of 5 standard grades or equivalent- Flexible approach to suit the needs of the business- Able to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the business- Commitment to quality and meeting deadlines- Ability to sustain bench working conditions for long periods of time- Passion for Animal Welfare- Passion for improving quality of life of patients- Hard working, committed individuals NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, FULL AND COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING PROVIDED.
