The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that their diverse needs receive comprehensive and effective support, while also leading a team of staff and therapists to create a collaborative and inclusive educational environment.This role requires exceptional leadership, organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of special education needs and EHCP processes. The Lead Professional will lead a team of staff and this role involves collaboration with staff, therapists, and external agencies ensuring seamless collaboration to create a comprehensive support network that maximizes the student’s potential and outcomes and maintaining strong partnerships with parents and external agencies.Key Responsibilities:1. EHCP Management and Coordination:· Lead the process of the implementation, development and review of the EHCP, aligning them with the students' academic goals, learning needs, and developmental milestones ensuring all statutory requirements are met.· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including educational professionals, therapists, and other relevant professionals to gather accurate information for the EHCP development to ensure that EHCPs are comprehensive and describe the student’s needs and provision required.· Monitor the progress of EHCP objectives and outcomes, adjusting plans as needed to reflect the student's evolving needs and aspirations.· Regularly review and update records to reflect students' progress, adjusting strategies and support as needed in response to changing needs and communicating this to all professionals involved.2. GCSE Preparation and Support:· Work closely with the Lead Teacher and where necessary the subject teachers to ensure that curriculum schemes of work are delivered, curriculum modifications and accommodations are effectively implemented to enable each student to access the GCSE curriculum.· Design and implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the student in their preparation for GCSE examinations, addressing academic, emotional, and therapeutic needs.· Coordinate and facilitate training and other initiatives to enhance the student’s study skills, time management, and exam-taking strategies. 4. Assessment and Evaluation:· Coordinate the process of regular assessments and reviews of the student’s progress, working with teachers and therapists to identify areas for improvement and adjust EHCPs accordingly.· Utilise data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support strategies, making evidence-based recommendations for improvements.5. Team Management, Leadership and Multi-Agency Collaboration:· Liaise with external agencies, such as local authorities, and specialist organisations, to coordinate support services for students with complex needs.· Provide leadership, guidance, direction, supervise and manage a Lead Teacher, teaching assistant, support staff and therapists providing clear direction, guidance, professional development opportunities, and performance feedback and ensuring they are equipped to deliver effective support as outlined in EHCPs.· Allocate resources effectively and delegate tasks to team members, ensuring the smooth execution of EHCP provisions and support.· Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of best practices.· Collaborate with colleagues across various departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to supporting the student’s overall well-being and educational success.· Conduct regular team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge in providing specialised support.6. Liaison and Communication:· Chair and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings to ensure a holistic approach to student support.· Act as the main point of contact between the parents and external agencies, fostering open and effective communication.· Establish and maintain strong relationships with parents and involved in the decision-making process related to EHCPs.· Establish and maintain regular communication with parents, ensuring they are informed about their child's progress, challenges, achievements, and support strategies.· Collaborate with external professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and mental health professionals, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to student support.· Conduct parent meetings, and individual consultations to address concerns, provide updates on EHCP progress, and solicit feedback.7.
