Job PurposeAs a Lead Applications Engineer in Dana's e:drive team, you will be spending a significant portion of your time as a resident engineer at the customer in the Midlands and have a home base at the Dana Lindley engineering technical centre on MIRA Technology Park or our project hub in our Dana Birmingham production plant. Splitting your time between these locations you'll be surrounded by passionate colleagues driving the efficiency and the quality of Dana electrification projects. Youwill beat the forefrontto support theengineering development and system integration in this customer facing role.This opportunity gives the chance to be involved all stages of the customer application through new product development and launch, taking the system from architecture to production. Working closely with the global product development team involving experts from all fields , you are involved in the full life cycle of electrified drivetrains covering inverters, motors, and gearbox. Job Duties and Responsibilities At it's core the role is being the customers key technical contact, which entails:- Lead customer interactions for all aspects related to e:drives systems- Represent the company as a technical expert when meeting with customers- In accordance with the development phases, define the technical requirements of the systems in close collaboration with other departments and Dana global tech centers- Lead systems engineering design reviews and produce related documentation- Lead the development of technical reports- Support the customer during system qualification- Lead the calibration of Dana systems in the customer application.- Lead the problem:solving exercises of quality concerns- Manage customer change requests- Participate and contribute to the implementation and updating of the design process, definition of requirements and technical specifications for e:drive systems- Contribute to the research and development of new technologies for electrification- Manage and liaise with external service providers and other Dana electrification tech centres.
