The Hammersmith and Fulham School Improvement Team are seeking to appoint an experienced education professional to work with schools, with a focus on SEND and inclusion, to offer support and challenge to practitioners, headteachers, senior leaders and governors. The core functions of the post are:To provide high:quality advice and challenge to schools to meet their statutory duties and identified needs with regard to inclusion and the education of children with additional needs.Commitment to delivering innovative ways of working to establish service level agreements, source and deliver CPD and curriculum improvement for the Special Schools and Specialist UnitsTo be the named, accountable Local Authority officer strategically responsible for the oversight of reduced timetables within the borough.To deliver on the H and F School Improvement Strategy including leading on oversight of some statutory and council prioritiesTo assist policy development on strategic support for SENCOs. We are looking for practitioners with:Significant school senior leadership experience or experience as a Local Authority adviser and an expert understanding of SEND guidance and legislation.Excellent knowledge and experience within the SEND sector.A proven track record of supporting headteachers, driving school improvement and supporting pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities.Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships. This post is offered as a part time, term:time only, permanent position. We welcome hybrid working, travelling across schools in the borough and from our central Hammersmith offices. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
