Position: Graphic Design & Art Direction Intern Location: London, UK Company Overview: Adeko &Co is re-starting its intern program and will be taking on graduates from Spring 23 for 6 months to work closely with our international executive and creative teams in the London studio. Successful applicants will benefit from a diverse internship programme which prepares graduates for entry-level PR and communications roles. Adẹkọ & Co is an independent, multi-disciplinary design studio that specialises in storytelling, often through space and materiality, founded and led by Tolù Adẹ̀kọ́, Creative Director. Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Graphic Design & Art Direction Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or current student to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of graphic design and art direction. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and effective designs for various projects, including branding, marketing materials, and digital assets - Assist in the development of design concepts and ideas, taking into consideration client briefs and brand guidelines - Support in conducting research and gather inspiration to inform design decisions - Assist in creating and editing graphics, illustrations, and layouts using industry-standard software - Working closely with the Creative director, assisting to ensure designs are aligned with the overall creative vision - Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas - Help with the preparation and organization of design presentations for clients - Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design and art direction Requirements: - A degree or currently pursuing a degree in graphic design, art direction, or a related field - Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) - Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and layout - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Ability to take direction and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment - A keen eye for detail and a passion for creativity - A portfolio showcasing your design skills and projects is required Benefits: - Gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional design environment - Work with a talented and supportive team - Opportunity to work on a variety of projects for different clients - Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals - Potential for a full-time position upon successful completion of the internship Immediate start - 6-month internship. Specific needs: - Must be available to work Monday-Thursday or Tuesday - Friday, 09:30 – 18:00, 2 days on-site in the London studio and two days location flexible - Passion for luxury design, architecture and yachts - Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential - Native or expert English speaker and writer - Excellent interpersonal & communication skills - Proficiency in other languages, French, Spanish, or Mandarin is advantageous - Organised, detail-oriented, and a great communicator—both in person and online · - Ability to excel at working in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are integral to these internships - Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in any related field - Able to work in a fast-paced environment, deadline-driven, and extremely well organised and detail-oriented with strong attention to detail If you are a creative and driven individual with a passion for graphic design and art direction, we would love to hear from you.
