Position: Interior Design Intern Location: London, UK Company Overview: Adeko & Co is re-starting its intern program and will be taking on graduates from Summer 24 for 6 months to work closely with our international executive and creative teams in our London studio. Successful applicants will benefit from a diverse internship programme which prepares graduates for entry-level Design roles. Adẹkọ & Co is an independent, multi-disciplinary design studio that specialises in storytelling, often through space and materiality, founded and led by Tolù Adẹ̀kọ́, Creative Director. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Interior Design Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interior design and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the interior design industry. Key Responsibilities: - Assist senior designers with project research, concept development, and presentations - Create 2D and 3D design drawings using software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp - Source and select materials, finishes, and furnishings for projects - Attend client meetings and site visits to gain a better understanding of project requirements - Collaborate with team members to develop design solutions that meet client needs and budget - Assist with project management tasks such as creating schedules and coordinating with contractors and suppliers - Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new design techniques - Maintain a clean and organized work environment Requirements: - Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design - Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and finishes - Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills - A positive attitude and willingness to learn - Previous internship or work experience in interior design is a plus Benefits: - Hands-on experience in a fast-paced and dynamic design firm - Opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain exposure to different design styles - Mentorship from experienced designers - Potential for a full-time position upon completion of the internship Immediate start - 6-month internship. Specific needs: - Must be available to work Monday-Thursday or Tuesday - Friday, 09:30 – 18:00, 2 days on-site in the London studio and two days location flexible - Passion for luxury design, architecture and yachts - Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential - Native or expert English speaker and writer - Excellent interpersonal & communication skills - Proficiency in other languages, French, Spanish, or Mandarin is advantageous - Organised, detail-oriented, and a great communicator—both in person and online · - Ability to excel at working in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are integral to these internships - Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in any related field - Able to work in a fast-paced environment, deadline-driven, and extremely well organised and detail-oriented with strong attention to detail If you are passionate about interior design and looking for a challenging and rewarding internship, we would love to hear from you.
