Learning Support Assistant Location: Thetford, Norfolk Salary: SCP4 : A GBP 23,114 : SCP6 A GBP 23,893 per annum (FTE) SCP 4 A GBP 8,267 : SCP6 A GBP 8,700 per annum (Pro Rate) including holiday pay Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for 1 year Hours: Term Time Plus 1 Week (39 Weeks), 15 Hours Per Week (Monday : Friday) Our clients have created a dynamic, friendly and secure environment with a positive approach to teaching. With small classes they can inspire each child, giving them close attention and ensuring they leave the school fully equipped for their next phase of learning. The Role The school are looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly and happy team in September 2024. Specific responsibilities include: * To attend to the personal and social needs of pupils and any other special requirements depending on the nature of a pupils special needs and, wherever possible, making these part of the learning experience* Promote inclusion and acceptance of pupils while encouraging constructive relationships within the classroom and with parents* Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes* Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses, including undertaking literacy and numeracy programmes, recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher The candidate will also encourage and develop safe, purposeful and creative play, ensuring the conduct, welfare, safety and wellbeing of pupils. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and enriching experience for children. Skills and Qualifications Experience working in a classroom environment is highly desirable, alongside the ability to clearly communicate and always work with the best interests of the pupils in mind.
