Our people make the difference. Tata Steel Colors is an international business with nearly 50 years experience in the development and manufacture of pre:finished steels. The steels produced by the business are applied in many sectors/finished products including building envelope (roof cladding and wall cladding), domestic appliances, consumer products, bakeware and other specialist applications. As Head of Manufacturing Operations you will manage the manufacturing processes and performance of two Colorcoat lines and one hot dip galvanising line in order to achieve Annual Plan targets for product volume, quality, yield and cost in the Manufacturing area. Whilst ensuring that processes and products satisfy stringent safety, quality and cost parameters within the manufacturing units. You will also have direct responsibility for the Transport and Warehouse operations for the business. Your primary objectives will include ensuring that operations are carried out in accordance with specified procedures including those required by the Health and Safety, Environment and Quality Management Systems and other relevant company requirements. Your contributions will directly impact business results, as volume and continuous integrated operations magnify the effects of decisions on operating costs and quality. You will be required to react to circumstances by varying operational activities in order to optimise benefits for the business You will be responsible for promoting continuous improvements in all aspects of people, plant, equipment, resources and manufacturing activity by championing he SOE approach, while developing longer term plans for the future development of the Manufacturing lines including organisational development and capital expenditure. The activities of your Department can directly affect customer satisfaction and perception of Shotton as a reliable supplier. You will ensure that services and products satisfy the quality requirements of internal and external customers You will be responsible for a significant number of people and therefore required to be familiar with relevant organisational and employee relations issues and procedures. You will also: :Ensure that operations are carried out safely in accordance with specified procedures including Health and Safety, environmental, QA and other relevant statutory and company requirements.:Manage manufacturing, transport and warehouse processes and performance in order to achieve Annual Plan targets for product quality, line output and reliability for internal material movements and external deliveries.:Communicate and translate the annual plan into daily, weekly and other periodic targets and to critically review performance against the plan.:Monitor customer complaints and feedback (including direct customer contact) and ensure that manufacturing operations respond appropriately to customer concerns and changes in market demands.:Ensure that all employees in the department are trained to the specified levels of competence and
