Working in close collaboration with the haematology lead for promoted brands, this role will lead the design, development and implementation of programs to optimise the UK launch potential for Janssen haematology pipeline assets. This position is able to make a significant impact on the business objectives and is typically responsibility for leading a group of professionals. Responsibilities Team Leadership * Provide leadership and direction to a Janssen Haematology Medical Team. * Coordinate and delegate work of their team, establishing accountability for assignments. * Lead, Develop and Empower the team and individuals to implement the Medical Plan through coaching, performance management, mentorship and personal development plans. * Champion team success and a working environment that cultivates open communication, dedication, diversity, equity and inclusion, and a positive work-life balance * Foster a culture of innovation, creativity and learning whilst maintaining high standards * Maintain collaborative working relationships between medical affairs and internal partners to deliver timely and authoritative support to product development. Strategy * Shape the MAF strategy that aligns with the business and brand strategy as agreed with the CVT (core value team) Lead the design and delivery of medical affairs programs, including identification of critical paths, budget development and tracking of all projects. Implement strategy-aligned evidence generation plans, including protocol review, resourcing and conduct in line with applicable guidelines, regulations, company procedures and high ethical/quality standards. Therapy Area Knowledge * Keep up to date on the latest scientific and clinical advances and developments within the pharmaceutical industry in relevant therapy areas Monitor competitor activities to find opportunities for our medicines to provide greater patient benefit Utilise all insights to ensure our strategy is aligned and effective Customer excellence * Develop positive relationships with Leading Specialists through regular interactions Purposefully engage customers to understand their need, concern and motivation about the evolving disease landscape, exploring possibilities for collaboration Build customer understanding about Janssen products and processes (e.g. clinical data, IIS, clinical trials, compliance processes), according to their expressed interests Proudly and responsibly represent Janssen in interactions with patient groups, government bodies (e.g. NICE, SIGN, SMC, AWSMG), guideline committees and professional groups/bodies. Internal collaboration * Engage actively as a key member of the assigned cross functional team to understand, craft and implement brand priorities and support the company strategic objectives Build and maintain a network with Global and EMEA Medical Affairs, R&D, GCO, SKM, Medical Education and marketing colleagues Compliance * Lead Medical Affairs engagement with UK CVT and other internal and external partners to ensure compliance with all Codes of Practice and Laws governing the promotion and sale of medicines within the UK and Ireland. * Have primary responsibility for copy approval of TA materials (can delegate to Medical Advisors where appropriate) * Maintain knowledge of ABPI Code of Practice and communicate UK specific requirements to Global and EMEA teams * In the event of any potential breaches of the ABPI Code, lead the defence of Janssen's position including engaging in inter-company dialogue and representation at PMCPA hearing where required * Qualified physician or pharmacist, with post registration clinical experience is preferred * ABPI code of practice final signatory status is preferred * Prior experience working in the field of Haematology/Oncology is required Industry experience required * Highly motivated with the ability to motivate others and succeed in a highly integrated group environment. * Commercially astute with an eye for business. * Good communication, leadership, mentoring and line management skills We respectfully request Government Officials to identify themselves as such on application, for the purpose of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
