Motor Mechanics Teacher Location: Nightingale Community Academy, Tooting, Wandsworth, SW17 7DF Salary: Inner London Teachers Pay Scale (Unqualified/Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale + SEN dependant on experience and qualifications) The Academy is a special school in Wandsworth for 120 boys aged 5 to 19 with social emotional and mental health needs. Primary pupils benefit from a purpose:built classroom hub and outdoor adventure playground and access to weekly music lessons and a comprehensive therapy service. Secondary and post:16 students are offered a broad curriculum including vocational courses such as motor vehicle studies, construction, horticulture and hospitality. All pupils benefit from regular animal therapy at Toms Farm, which is located on the spacious school site. They have an exciting opportunity for a subject leader of mechanics and motor vehicle technology or construction skills to join their vocational team. This unique opportunity would allow you to set up a new curriculum delivering ABC and/or City and Guilds qualifications to very small groups of students aged 14:19 in an impressive workshop space. Skills and Qualifications * Qualified Teacher Status (or QTS anticipated or prepared to study/achieve QTS or equivalent).* Experienced practitioner with relevant trade qualifications* Recent industry experience* Passion, knowledge and skills to deliver Entry Level 3: Level 2 qualifications to young people with a range of special educational needs.* You will need to have enthusiasm and patience to personalise learning and have the communication skills needed to make network links with local industry to help their students transition from sixth form to employment or further training.* You will have high expectations, a love of challenge and a determination to make a difference to the lives of their learners.
