Role Purpose: To maintain Lonza Pharma & Biotech as a leading contract manufacturer through the development and optimization of new mammalian cell culture technologies. This lab-based role involves designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to optimize and scale-up bioprocesses for biologics production. Key Accountabilities and Duties: * Set up, operate, and maintain lab-scale bioreactors for mammalian cell culture. Monitor bioprocess parameters and ensure optimal conditions for cell growth and productivity. * Working closely with the upstream R&D team; plan and execute several complex (non-routine) lab-scale fed-batch and perfusion bioreactor process development and optimization. * Engage in routine mammalian cell culture workflows involving media preparation, revival and subculture as required for an experiment. * Plan and design experiments to develop and optimize mammalian cell culture processes. Utilize DOE (Design of Experiments) and other statistical methods to ensure robust and reproducible results. * Supporting writing study plans, reports and preparing presentations * Generate experimental results and review respective scientific documentation. * Is responsible for ensuring that studies are scientifically sound and in line with current regulatory guidance and expectations. * Helps with ensuring lab procedures are adhered to and supports safety assessments. * Perform other lab duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills: * Degree (required)*BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng Field of Study Life sciences/ biotechnology/ Bioprocess/biochemistry/chemical engineering Degree (preferred)PhD Field of Study Life sciences/ biotechnology/ Bioprocess/biochemistry/chemical engineering.
