Description:
A Mechanical & Electrical Design Coordinator is required in a well established Mechanical and Electrical company based in Cambridgeshire.Responsibilities: Establishing and agreeing on design programs with clients and design consultants.Monitoring the progress of designs against agreed programs and ensuring timely completion of documentation.Directly managing both internal design teams and external consultants.A Mechanical & Electrical Design Coordinator is required in a well established Mechanical and Electrical company based in Cambridgeshire.Responsibilities: Establishing and agreeing on design programs with clients and design consultants.Monitoring the progress of designs against agreed programs and ensuring timely completion of documentation.Directly managing both internal design teams and external consultants.Reviewing and critically appraising mechanical services design documentation to ensure compliance with project briefs, coordination, spatial fit, and regulatory adherence.Engaging with subcontractors to incorporate valuable design advice.Developing, issuing, and tracking requests for information.Liaising with pre construction teams to ensure adherence to project budgets.Undertaking minor mechanical design tasks to support Contract/Project Managers.Ensuring coordinated working drawings are developed to facilitate installation commencement.Attending internal pre-contract meetings to present design documentation to contract teams and project managers upon contract award.Preparing reports required by clients and professional teams and responding to all correspondence in writing, recording key aspects. Qualifications: Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Building Services design process.A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical services design.Proven capability to design all mechanical services systems, including public health, domestic water services, heating systems, cooling, and ventilation systems.A Building Services Engineering degree or be working towards a recognized qualification.Strong knowledge of working in 3D and a proven history of working on BIM level 2 projects and associated BIM execution plans.Detailed knowledge of low & zero carbon technologies.Knowledge of project procurement methods from traditional single-stage to two-stage design & build contracts.Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize workloads effectively.Excellent people management, communication, and motivational skills.Ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines on multiple projects.Ability to work unsupervised while also being an active team member.Proactive approach to problem-solving.Good knowledge of all aspects of health and safety within the industry and the ability to implement control measures at the site level.Ability to meet deadlines and work in a client-facing environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail.
