IMPORT CO-ORDINATOR Location: Aberdeen Hours: 37.5 per week Reports to: Import Operations Team Leader Closing Date: 20th June 2024 Role Purpose: •To control Import shipments on a start to finish basis, and develop excellent customer relationships through the delivery of a consistent and high quality service. Position Specification: •Accepts all orders (from customer or overseas office) and assumes full responsibility for their successful completion •Develops relationship with allocated customers •Ensure all Import shipments are handled based on Instructions and relevant authorisations received from customers •Arrange respective transport, collections & deliveries & liaise with respective Shipping Lines, Airlines or Warehouse facilities as necessary •Monitor and ensure avoiding any demurrage or detention •Takes and registers all customer complaints and drives solution of customer complaints by solving it directly or assigning tasks to other function or escalating as required •Ensures correct on-time billing to the customer and accruals •Has full responsibility for end-end file handling. • Key Skills •Strong background on Imports •Good Administrative and MS Excel skills and ideally with a working knowledge of Cargowise operating system. •Instinctive Customer Service ethic •A ‘get the job done’ attitude •Thoroughly embedded knowledge of start to finish Ocean Freight process Results driven and good attention to detail •Good written and spoken English •Good interpersonal skills •Ability to build relationships with customers •Able to prioritise, perform under pressure and work using own initiative.
