Here at the Mick George Group , we are hiring a Quantity Surveyor . Job Overview: To manage tendering of projects, maximising the tendered margin whilst looking at potential value engineering and successfully winning projects. Responsibilities: To actively tender projects that are received by the business. To be aware of contractual terms and potential risks to the business. To review all information received to understand the scope of works to be tendered. To submit tenders on time to the clients' requirements. To accurately measure relevant works to derive/ validate quantities for pricing purposes. To build up tender rates from first principles on a labour, plant and a material basis. To consider potential value engineering opportunities to offer to potential clients. To obtain market rates for subcontracted works. To respond to clients queries in a timely manner. To understand programme and buildabilty constraints within a tender. To be responsible for the handover meeting of secured work by passing information to the delivery team. To maintain client relationships. To seek opportunities for new and continued work. To provide support and advice to less experienced members of the team. Always conduct in a professional manner as an ambassador of the Mick George Group. Skills/ Qualifications: Experience in estimating bulk earthworks and civils works. Excellent communication skills Problem solving skills Ability to be methodical and flexible in approach to tasks A pro-active team member.
