Teacher of Art - Secondary School We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Art Teacher to become part of a vibrant team at a secondary school in Waterlooville. This permanent, full-time role aims to nurture the artistic talents of students within a supportive community that values creativity and innovation. As an Art Teacher you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the artistic skills of students from years 7 through 11, aged 11 to 16. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire creativity and encourage students to express themselves through various mediums such as painting, drawing, photography and 3D design.The role offers professional development opportunities, a collaborative working environment, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young artists. What does the role involve? Developing and implementing a comprehensive art curriculum that encourages creative expression. Teaching a variety of art forms including drawing, painting, photography, 3D design and digital art. Encouraging students to explore different techniques, genres, and styles, helping them understand the context and significance of art history and different artistic movements. Providing constructive feedback and support to help students grow as artists. Monitoring pupil progress, keeping pupil records that include assessment outcomes, targets and achievements, and to prepare and present informative reports to parents. Contributing to the effective use of subject resources, including evaluation of new materials and equipment. Organising and overseeing art displays, visits, after-school clubs, extra curricular activities and community projects (where necessary). Acting as a role model to pupils through personal presentation and professional conduct. Collaborating with other faculty members to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects, establishing effective working relationships with professional colleagues. Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment. What are we looking for? If you are enthusiastic about art and passionate about teaching, we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in art and education, with a degree in Arts or a related field and relevant teaching qualifications.
