Handy Person Simonside House, Young People service: Newcastle upon Tyne Permanent, Part Time (7.5 hpw, fully flexible on days worked) £12 per hour, and great benefits including Health Cash Plan Driver highly desirable Home, a place where you belong We have a fabulous job opportunity for a Handy Person in our service in Newcastle. You will be the multi skilled, hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. Simonside House accommodate customers aged 16-24yrs. There are 13 rooms in the main building with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. We also have 5 dispersed properties. Typical day as a Handy Person * Be ready to react to minor emergency and non-emergency repairs. Examples include repairs to doors and locks, changing tap washes, along with general household duties such as unblocking sinks. * A keen eye and hand for any internal deco, you will be a dab hand with a paintbrush. * Collaborative working with colleagues, commercial partners, and customers throughout your day. * We also have some customers living in homes in close proximity of Simonside House, being a friendly face is needed when doing minor repairs in customer homes. About You * A team player with a can-do attitude, enthusiastic, and commendable organisation skills. * You’re multi skilled with general maintenance, know a bit about general repairs, carpentry, basic plumbing and is a whizz with a paint brush! * Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life. * It would be amazing if you have been a handy person in a previous job, but it’s not a deal breaker. Let us know your transferable skills in your cover note. * Able to use technology for essential eLearning and completing HR tasks such as submitting annual leave requests.
