Due to continued growth, they are currently looking to recruit a Project Design Engineer with extensive communication system experience.About The CompanyMy client is a leading, world-class, privately owned British company who provide Cloud, SD-WAN Networks, Unified Communications and Cyber Security services to a range of global customers. Due to continued growth, they are currently looking to recruit a Design Engineer.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing project solutions and designs from project specifications, proposals and plans, and in conjunction with the Project Management Team will monitor project progress & coordinating activities. Project Design Engineer Communication Systems – Key Responsibilities Design and specify systems and sub-systems in line with customer specification. This may be completed as part of a pre-sale’s activity or project delivery phase. This will include engagement with existing and new suppliers.Creation of Bill of Materials and assist in pricing in conjunction with sales/bid team when required.Formulation of project and handover documentation including, but not limited to, engineering documentation and drawings, testing procedures, Health and Safety documentation.Support in the installation, commissioning and testing of communications equipment and systems, ensuring accurate and timely completion in accordance with company and customer procedures and programmes, with required documentation. This will be a combination of office based and on-sites around the UK, and occasionally, abroad.Configuration, fault-finding and maintenance of third-party proprietary equipmentObtain and maintain technical competence in the communication systems supported Project Design Engineer Communication Systems – Essential Requirements Experience in site activities including installing configuring and commissioning communications and telecoms equipment and servicesExperience in design of formalised design of communication and telecoms systems and/or subsystemsExposure to and some experience in a diverse range of communication technologies including IP Networking and at least one of the following: SDN IP, Networking, TDM, DWDM, Microwave Radio Telephony, CCTV or Access ControlConfidence to work in controlled areas such as electrical substationsConfidence to work with low voltage power systemsAbility to travel as required both in the UK and occasionally abroadAbility to obtain UK Security Clearance Project Design Engineer Communications Systems – Desired Requirements Cisco Qualification CCNA/CCNP etcExperience with Cyber SecurityElectrical ‘18th Edition’ and/or Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Electrical InstallationsInspection & Testing level 2 certificate C&G 2392-10Understanding of the sales processDegree level education advantageous, but track record of success in aligned career of higher importance
